Fix a sideways photo
Choose −90° to turn a photo counterclockwise. A 1,600 × 1,200 source becomes a 1,200 × 1,600 output.
Turn a sideways photo or straighten an image by a precise angle. Positive angles rotate clockwise, negative angles rotate counterclockwise, and the output canvas expands to keep the image corners visible.
Up to 12 images, 20 MB per file, 24 megapixels per image; 60 MB and 48 megapixels per batch. SVG is not accepted. GIF and animated formats export as still images.
Maximum output: 32 megapixels per image, 64 megapixels / 64 MB per batch. Newly encoded downloads may lose metadata and color profiles.
Selected files are processed in your browser. This tool does not upload image bytes or fetch remote image URLs. Clear the tool to release its local image previews.
Select one image or a batch of images.
Choose a quarter-turn preset or enter an angle between −360 and 360 degrees.
Choose PNG or WebP for transparent corners, or JPEG with a fill color.
Rotate the images and review each preview before downloading.
Choose −90° to turn a photo counterclockwise. A 1,600 × 1,200 source becomes a 1,200 × 1,600 output.
Enter 2 degrees for a small clockwise adjustment. The expanded canvas keeps the scan corners; crop afterward if you want to remove the new corner areas.
For angle θ, the bounding width is approximately |w cos θ| + |h sin θ| and the bounding height is |w sin θ| + |h cos θ|. The tool rounds up to whole pixels and applies output limits before allocating the canvas.
A rotated rectangle usually leaves empty triangles around its edges. PNG and WebP preserve those transparent regions. JPEG uses the selected solid fill because JPEG cannot represent alpha transparency.
The download contains a newly rendered image, rather than just a change to an orientation metadata flag. Small-angle rotation uses browser interpolation and may soften fine text or lines.
Clockwise. A negative number turns counterclockwise.
Yes. The same angle and format settings apply to every image in the batch, within the total pixel and file limits.
The canvas expands to contain the rotated image. At unusual angles, antialiasing can affect the outermost edge pixels.
This tool decodes and re-encodes the image, so JPEG output is not a lossless JPEG transform. Use PNG if you want to avoid another lossy encoding stage.
