PRIVACY

Privacy, in plain language.

Tool inputs and selected files are processed in your browser. ToolSwoop does not upload them for processing.

Tool inputs and files

Text, images, Wi-Fi credentials, calculations and other tool inputs stay in the page. Downloads are generated locally. Reference datasets, fonts and program files may be requested from this site. Uploaded-file controls select files on your device; they do not send those files to a server.

Microphone and device information

The instrument tuner asks for microphone permission when you start listening. Audio is analyzed locally and is not recorded or sent to ToolSwoop. Stop listening or leave the page to release the microphone. The screen checker reads browser-provided display information and explains its limits.

Browsing and searching

Directory filtering happens in your browser. If you use the homepage search, your search words appear in the destination URL and may be included in hosting request logs and browser history. Avoid entering private information into the catalogue search. External reference links open other websites with their own privacy policies.

Optional Google Analytics

ToolSwoop uses Google Analytics 4 to help us understand visits, traffic sources and use of the site. In the United States, analytics starts by default unless you have turned it off or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. In all other countries, including the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics waits for your permission. If we cannot determine your country, it also waits for permission. The Google tag does not load after you decline analytics.

A small request to our own Cloudflare-hosted endpoint checks which analytics setting applies. Cloudflare determines the country from the connection; the endpoint returns only an analytics setting, not your IP address or location, and its response is not cached. We do not request your device’s location permission or send this lookup to a separate geolocation provider. IP-based country detection is approximate and may reflect a VPN or proxy.

When analytics is enabled, Google may process pages visited, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions enabled in our Analytics property. To opt out at any time, select Analytics preferences in the footer and Turn analytics off. We also disable this integration when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, even if you previously allowed analytics.

Our pageview configuration excludes query strings and URL fragments, and reduces the referring URL to its website origin. Depending on the Enhanced Measurement options enabled in our Analytics property, Google may also record catalogue search terms, scrolling, outbound links, downloads and form-interaction details. Avoid entering private information into the catalogue search. Our custom integration does not attach tool inputs, uploaded files, Wi-Fi credentials or generated results to analytics events. Advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization and Google Signals are disabled in this integration.

Analytics can set first-party cookies with names such as _ga and _ga_EL0F8M5TGB. Our integration requests a six-month cookie lifetime. Your explicit analytics choice is stored locally for 180 days and takes priority over the US default. We do not store an automatic US setting as permission, so travelling to another country triggers its applicable setting. Declining analytics turns off future collection through this integration and removes its accessible Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already sent to Google.

You can use every tool without optional analytics. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites using its services.

Local preferences

The ad-layout preview switch uses session storage to remember its setting while you browse. The optional analytics choice uses local storage. Both preferences stay in your browser, and the site remains usable if storage is unavailable.

Advertising

No live advertising scripts are installed. Advertisement boxes in layout-preview mode are empty design placeholders. Advertising will require a separate update to this notice and the relevant consent controls.

Hosting

Cloudflare Pages hosts the public website. The hosting provider receives standard connection information, such as IP addresses and requested URLs, to deliver the website.
