Choose images

Up to 12 files, 20 MB each, 80 MB and 80 megapixels total. Animated images export as one still frame.

Resize settings

Maximum output: 32 megapixels. Fit preserves each image’s proportions. Crop removes edges; stretch can distort. Exports are newly encoded images.

No stock images or external image datasets are used. Uploaded images are processed locally in your browser.

How to use the Image Resizer

  1. 01

Select up to 12 supported raster images. Each file can be up to 20 MB, with an 80 MB total limit.

  2. 02

Choose a width or bounding box. Fit preserves proportions; fill crops from the center; exact dimensions stretches.

  3. 03

Choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Set JPEG or WebP quality, then select Resize images.

  4. 04

Check the output dimensions and preview, then download each result.

Examples

A photo inside 1200 × 800

A 4000 × 3000 photo becomes 1067 × 800 in Fit mode, after rounding to whole pixels. The entire photo stays visible.

Square product thumbnails

Fill a 600 × 600 box to produce a square from a landscape image. The tool crops equally from the left and right; keep important details near the center.

Transparent logos

Choose PNG or WebP to retain transparency in a raster logo. JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparent regions receive a white background.

Choose the sizing method for the job

Set width uses a consistent width while each image keeps its own aspect ratio. Fit sets maximum dimensions, so portrait and landscape images can end up with different sizes. Fill creates the requested box by cropping the center. Stretch forces both dimensions and can change the shape of faces, circles, and text.

Pixels, quality, and file size

Smaller dimensions reduce the number of pixels. JPEG and WebP quality also affects encoding and file size; a 90% setting is a starting point, not a promised size reduction. PNG ignores the quality slider and can remain large for detailed photographs. Enlargement adds pixels but cannot recover missing detail.

Exports and metadata

Each result is encoded from a browser canvas. The tool does not copy the original metadata blocks, color profile, or animation. Browser color handling can change appearance, so use a dedicated color-managed editor for print production. Downloads are individual files rather than an archive.

What to know

  • Browser decoding and encoding support varies. Unsupported WebP export may fall back to PNG, and the download extension follows the actual output format.
  • This tool does not preserve animation, embedded metadata, or original color profiles.

Common questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Selection, decoding, resizing, and export take place in your browser. Clear removes the current images from this tool’s state.

Why is the result smaller than the dimensions I entered?

Fit treats those dimensions as a bounding box. With enlargement disabled, a small source also stays at its original size. Enable enlargement or choose another method if you need a different result.

Can I resize GIFs and AVIF images?

Yes, when your browser can decode them. Animated files become a single still image. The browser chooses the decoded frame; this is not an animation editor.

What are the output limits?

Each output side can be up to 16,384 pixels, with no more than 32 million pixels total. Sources over 64 million pixels and batches over 80 million source pixels are rejected. Device memory can impose lower practical limits.
