Blank five-line staves leave clefs, key signatures, and time signatures for you to add. A paired system connects two staves; no clef symbol is assumed.

How to use the Music Staff Paper Generator

  1. 01

Choose paper, margins, and the number of staves.

  2. 02

Adjust line spacing and choose single or paired staves. Paired systems need an even count.

  3. 03

Add a title and optional equal measure divisions, then export the paper.

Examples

Paired composition sketch

Choose 8 staves, pair them, use 2 mm line spacing, and divide each staff into four measures. This creates four connected pairs.

Melody notebook

Choose 10 unpaired staves and no barlines to leave the measure structure open.

Staff count versus system count

Every staff has five horizontal lines. With pairing enabled, two adjacent staves form one connected system, so 10 staves produce five pairs. The connector is a straight line; no brace or clef is assumed.

Open notation space

Clefs, time signatures, key signatures, and notes are intentionally blank. Bar divisions are equally spaced visual guides and do not represent measured musical duration.

What to know

  • Supports 4–14 five-line staves, line spacing of 1.2–3 mm, and up to 8 equal measures.
  • The paper is blank notation space, not an audio or score engraving tool.

Common questions

Does the paper include treble or bass clefs?

No. You can add the clef appropriate to your instrument after printing. No music symbol font is required.

Why is my staff count rejected?

The combination of staff count and line spacing must leave at least 4 mm between adjacent staves. Reduce the count or spacing if the page becomes too crowded.

Can I get piano-style pairs?

Yes. Enable paired staves and choose an even staff count. Add treble and bass clefs by hand as needed.
