Turn a spreadsheet selection into Markdown
Copy a few columns from a spreadsheet and paste them into the import box. Spreadsheet selections usually separate columns with tabs; select Tab explicitly if automatic detection chooses the wrong delimiter.
Build a Markdown table from spreadsheet cells or quoted CSV, then edit the headers and data directly. Set each column’s alignment and copy source that is ready for a README or another GitHub-style Markdown editor.
Paste tab-separated cells into any cell to fill a rectangle. Use Enter inside a cell for a line break. Table content is treated as literal text; Markdown punctuation and HTML are escaped.

2 data row(s), 3 column(s). Line breaks become <br>. Requires a Markdown renderer with GitHub-style table support. Limits: 200 data rows and 30 columns.
Your table is generated in the browser. Spreadsheet data is not uploaded by this tool.
Paste a spreadsheet selection, TSV, or CSV into the import box. Choose whether the first row contains headers, then select Import into table.
Edit individual cells, paste a rectangle of spreadsheet cells into the grid, and add or remove rows and columns.
Set column alignment, choose padded or compact source, then copy the Markdown or download a .md file.

A cell containing Read | Write is exported with an escaped pipe, so a compatible Markdown renderer keeps it inside one column instead of starting a new column.
Enter a line break in a cell. The output uses a generated <br> tag within the table cell. User-supplied HTML, including a pasted <script> tag, is escaped as text.
The separator row controls alignment: a colon on the left aligns left, colons on both ends center the column, and a colon on the right aligns right. Default alignment omits colons. Padding adds spaces to make the source easier to read without changing the table’s intended content.
Cells are treated as plain text. Pipes, backslashes, and Markdown formatting punctuation are escaped; ampersands and angle brackets become HTML entities. Leading and trailing spaces use space entities. The tool does not execute pasted HTML or Markdown. Edit the exported source yourself if you intentionally want links, emphasis, or code spans.
Short rows are padded with empty cells to match the widest row. When the first row is data, generated column names are added above it. Quoted CSV supports delimiters, doubled quotes, and line breaks inside a field. The editable grid supports up to 200 data rows and 30 columns.
Tables are an extension used by GitHub Flavored Markdown and many other renderers. Basic CommonMark does not define tables. Verify support in the editor where you will publish the output.
Pipe tables do not provide row spans or column spans. Use an HTML table in a compatible editor if merged cells are essential.
This generator preserves cell text literally so pasted formatting syntax does not change the result. Remove the relevant escapes in the exported source if you want Markdown formatting.
The import box is designed for spreadsheet, TSV, and CSV text. It does not parse an existing Markdown table or its alignment row.
