Coin Flipper

Flip a virtual coin for a simple decision or generate a batch to study independent trials. Every flip has an equal chance of heads or tails. The session totals help compare observed results with the theoretical 50–50 probability.

Flip a fair virtual coin

Heads and tails each have probability ½ on every independent flip. There is no forced balancing.

Flip once to make a choice, or run a batch to explore probability.

Inputs and generated results are processed in your browser. These tools do not upload them or persist them in local storage. Copying or downloading creates a record you control.

How to use the Coin Flipper

  1. 01

Choose one flip for a quick decision, or a batch from 1 to 1,000 flips.

  2. 02

Flip and read the latest result or batch totals. Expand the batch to inspect its exact order.

  3. 03

Compare cumulative session totals, copy the latest batch, or reset the session to begin again.

Examples

Make a two-way choice

Agree that heads means the first option and tails means the second, then flip once. Decide that mapping before seeing the result.

Explore sampling variation

Run 100 flips and compare the number of heads with 50. The count is not forced to equal 50; run more batches to observe how the session percentage changes.

Equal probability is not a balancing rule

Each flip is independent. Ten heads in a row does not make tails more likely on the next flip, and the tool never adds outcomes to compensate for a streak. A fair process can still produce uneven short batches.

Batch and session are different views

The latest batch shows only the most recent button press. Session totals accumulate heads and tails across all batches until reset. Recent history retains at most ten batch descriptions; the session totals can include older batches that have rolled out of that list.

What is exported

The text export includes numbered outcomes from the latest batch, in flip order. It does not export all prior session flips. Use the latest-batch details to inspect the sequence or copy results before resetting.

Common questions

Is the coin weighted?

No. Heads and tails each receive half of the unsigned 32-bit outcomes used for a flip.

Why did I get the same result several times?

Streaks occur in independent trials. The generator does not prevent consecutive repeated outcomes.

Can a coin land on its edge?

This virtual model has exactly two outcomes: heads and tails.

Do session totals survive a refresh?

No. They are kept only in this page’s memory and cleared when you leave or reload.
